NCBI Monterey County is dedicated to ending discrimination, oppression, and intolerance of every kind.
We bring people together across group lines including race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability and class. We provide training and education in schools and the community to increase understanding, promote acceptance, and reduce prejudice. We collaborate with public and private organizations to nurture leadership for social justice and provide opportunities for healing from the impact of oppression.

All of us at NCBI hope that you had a fulfilling (and filling!) Thanksgiving. 1. Birdies for Charity/Giving Tues (Dec 3rd ) Contest
This year NCBI is participating in the Birdies for Charity Campaign now through Feb 28th. This is your best bang for your buck as Birdies is offering a 20% match! Just go to Birdies for Charity!
But that’s not all! You’ve heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, well now there’s Giving Tuesday? The Monterey Peninsula Foundation has added an additional incentive: $1,000 bonus to the charity who collects the highest amount through Birdies for Charity on Giving Tuesday. Donations must be entered online exactly on December 3
2. Donate through Monterey County Gives! Campaign
Midnight, Dec. 31, is your last chance make your contribution through Monterey County Gives so please don’t delay.
To make a donation go to: Monterey County Gives, scroll down to and click onNational Coalition Building Institute and click “Donate Now”. If you prefer, you can print out a form from the website and mail it (postmarked by Dec. 31) with a check payable to the Community Foundation of Monterey County (make sure to put NCBI in the memo!) Human Rights Day Luncheon As usual, NCBI is a co-sponsor of the United Nation Associations annual Human Rights Luncheon to be held on Dec 7th at the Monterey Elks Lodge. It’s an inspiring event and many fine human rights activists, include several NCBI members, have been honored at the event over the years. This year’s honoree is Dr. Jan Knippers Black. Congratulations Jan! Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March
